Become a Workshop Instructor

Do you have a skill, hobby, trade, profession, or passion you’d love to share with homeschool families? We invite parents, educators, artisans, local professionals, business owners, and community members to become workshop instructors and help create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for children.

Whether you’re teaching painting, robotics, gardening, woodworking, financial literacy, cooking, photography, nature studies, music, or practical life skills, we believe everyone has something valuable to share.

All Instructors are self-employed, independent contractors; therefore, they set the parameters and fees for their workshops. H.O.M.E. doesn’t hire teachers; rather, it provides a space for instructors to share their skills and talents.

How it Works

  1. Submit a Workshop Proposal
Complete our Instructor Application and Workshop Submission Form with details about your workshop, recommended ages, class size, preferred dates, materials needed, and any instructor fees.

  2. Review Process
We’ll review your proposal to ensure it aligns with our mission of providing engaging, educational, and family-friendly learning experiences for homeschool students. If your proposal is a good fit, we’ll contact you to let you know your application has been approved.

  3. Scheduling
Once approved, we’ll work with you to schedule your workshop for registration.

  4. Registration
Your workshop will be listed in our Members’ Workshop Hub, where families can view the details and register.

  5. Instructor Payment
Instructors determine their own workshop fee, if applicable. While we encourage offering a variety of free and paid learning opportunities, instructors may charge a fee to cover materials, preparation time, instruction, or specialized resources. Payments are made directly from participating families to the instructor using the payment method provided in the workshop listing.

What We Ask of Our Instructors

  • Provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.

  • Pass a background check, paid by instructor

  • Communicate clearly about workshop expectations, supplies, and age recommendations.

  • Arrive Prepared and ready to lead a learning experience.

  • Commit to teaching the entire session or duration of their classes, as per their application

  • Schedule substitute teachers, and/or provide refunds of class fees for all canceled classes

  • Notify us promptly of any schedule changes

We believe our community is filled with talented people whose knowledge and experiences can inspire the next generation of learners. If you’d like to teach a workshop, we’d love to hear from you!
